Who Ships With Shippy? Use Cases From Ecommerce to Healthcare

By Alexa Fangman

If your customer data lives in HubSpot, your shipping should too. The address, conversation, and reason for sending a package are already there. Moving those details into another tool just to create a label adds work to an otherwise straightforward task.

Shippy by Dijy, the native HubSpot shipping app, brings labels, packing slips, and tracking into that same environment. You can ship from a record where the app card is enabled, then follow shipment progress through an associated Order record.

You don't need to run an online store to find a use for it. The scenarios below are examples of how different teams could use Shippy, not claims about specific customers.

Ecommerce and DTC: Keep Orders, Returns, and Exchanges Together

Shippy helps ecommerce and direct-to-consumer teams handle shipping beside the customer conversation. When an order, return, or exchange requires a label, your team can work from the relevant deal or ticket instead of re-entering the recipient's information elsewhere.

The Return Label checkbox reverses the sender and recipient addresses for an inbound shipment. It doesn't automatically add a second label to an outbound shipment. Create each label needed for your return or exchange process.

Example: A customer requests a different size. Your service rep creates the return label from the ticket, then creates an outbound label for the replacement. With the Shippy card enabled in the Help Desk sidebar, the team can review shipping information alongside the exchange conversation.

B2B, Manufacturing, and Distribution: Connect Sales to Fulfillment

Shippy connects a prospect's sample request with the details your shipping team needs. Sales can create a shipment from a deal, while the warehouse uses deal line items to generate an itemized packing slip.

For repeated warehouse tasks, Shippy Connect connects printers and scales through a desktop extension. Power Shipper and Mega Shipper include Connect and barcode import. Bulk label downloads and merged packing slip PDFs support batch printing instead of opening each document separately.

Example: A manufacturer sends sample components to a prospect. The warehouse scans the deal's packing slip through Barcode Import, which fills shipment details and creates a draft. Staff confirm the package weight using a connected scale, review the draft, and finalize the label.

Healthcare and Life Sciences: Track Patient Kits and Supplies

Shippy gives healthcare and life sciences teams shipment visibility for patient kits and supplies. Each shipment becomes an Order record associated with its source record, so staff can check delivery progress inside HubSpot.

Mega Shipper includes custom Proof of Delivery (POD) and a Business Associate Agreement (BAA), and is recommended for enterprise and healthcare shipping needs.

Tip: Discuss the custom POD details and your organization's requirements with Dijy. These plan inclusions don't establish that a particular process meets your compliance obligations.

Example: A patient-experience team ships a home-use kit and checks the associated order when the patient asks about delivery. If tracking reports an error, a HubSpot workflow can alert the team to investigate. Your compliance team should review the setup before patient information is involved.

Nonprofits and Associations: Ship Donor and Member Materials

Shippy lets nonprofit and association teams send physical materials from the records they already use for supporter relationships. Donation collection boxes, member materials, and loyalty gifts for top donors can all start with a HubSpot contact or company record.

When a shipment needs an itemized document, packing slips use the line items on an associated deal. You can include your organization's logo and color for a consistent presentation.

Example: An association sends collection boxes to volunteer coordinators and thank-you gifts to its top donors. Staff create the shipments from the relevant records and use tracking to answer arrival questions. The shipping history stays connected to the supporter relationship instead of living in a separate spreadsheet.

Financial, Legal, and Insurance: Follow Important Documents

Shippy helps financial, legal, and insurance teams follow important mailed documents without leaving their CRM. Tracking information on Order records gives staff a place to check progress when a client asks about a regulatory notice, policy packet, or compliance document.

Example: An insurance team mails a policy packet and checks its delivery status before following up with the client. Staff can review the carrier's tracking information without asking a colleague to search a separate shipping system.

Keep the claim precise: tracking provides shipping visibility. It doesn't, by itself, prove that a regulatory mailing requirement has been met. Your legal or compliance team should define the delivery service and documentation required for each type of document.

Agencies, SaaS, and HR: Automate Welcome Kits

Shippy's workflow actions turn repeatable events into shipments. Agencies can send client welcome gifts, SaaS teams can mail onboarding materials, and HR teams can arrange new-hire kits when the relevant recipient data is in HubSpot.

Create Shipment requires a carrier service, preset package, sender address, and recipient details. You also need a HubSpot subscription with workflow access. Use Create Draft Shipment instead when someone should review the information before postage is purchased.

Example: An HR team configures a workflow around its approved onboarding milestone. The workflow creates a shipment using the new hire's verified address and a standard kit package. Staff can follow the resulting order rather than manually creating each label.

Ship Domestically and Across Borders

Shippy supports domestic shipping and shipping to 30-plus countries internationally, with customs details handled inside the app card. An overseas sample, donor gift, or welcome kit can follow the same record-based starting point as a domestic package.

The international flow adds a Customs page after addresses and packages. Check the supported destinations before preparing a shipment, and contact Dijy about a missing destination. Your team remains responsible for providing accurate shipment and customs information.

Start Small With Pay-As-You-Go

Pay-As-You-Go charges a $2 app fee per shipment with no subscription commitment. Postage is charged separately. Plans range through Lite Shipper, Super Shipper, and Power Shipper to Mega Shipper, so occasional senders don't need to begin with a high-volume plan.

Start with one shipment your team already needs to send. Follow our Getting Started guide, select Pay-As-You-Go, and create the label from the relevant HubSpot record. If you need warehouse hardware or healthcare-specific plan options, talk to Dijy about the right tier. Happy shipping!
